A GolfPass pass should look like your club, not a generic ticket. The Pass Design section controls how the pass appears in both Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, and a few minutes here makes a real difference to how golfers perceive it.
Why branding matters
A branded pass does two jobs. It builds trust — a golfer who opens a pass with your logo and colours recognises it instantly, which makes them far more likely to add and keep it. And it markets your club every time the golfer opens their wallet, which is often.
An unbranded, default-looking pass does the opposite: it looks like spam, and people delete spam.
What you can set
- Logo. Upload your club's logo. It appears at the top of the pass. A clean logo — square or wide, on a transparent background — looks best.
- Background colour. Pick the main colour of the pass. Your primary club colour is usually the right choice.
- Text colour. Choose a text colour that stays easy to read on top of your background.
- Preview. Watch the preview update as you go — it shows roughly how the pass will look once it's in a wallet.
Tips for a sharp result
- Use a high-resolution logo. Wallet passes are shown on sharp phone screens, and a blurry or pixelated logo is the first thing people notice. When in doubt, supply a larger image.
- Test contrast outdoors. A colour combination that looks fine on your monitor can wash out in bright sunlight on the first tee. Aim for strong contrast between background and text.
- Keep it simple. The pass is small. A bold logo and one confident accent colour beats a busy design every time.
- Mind transparency. A logo with a transparent background sits cleanly on your chosen colour; a logo with its own white box can look boxed-in.
Check it on a real phone
The on-screen preview is a good guide, but nothing beats the real thing — colours and logo crispness can look different in an actual wallet.
- Make your branding changes in Pass Design.
- Send yourself a test pass — see Create your club and first pass.
- Add it to your wallet and check the logo, colours, and readability in real light.
- Adjust and repeat until it looks right.
When branding changes take effect
Branding applies to passes issued from that point on, and existing passes pick up the new look on their next update.
If an older pass still shows the previous design, it simply hasn't refreshed yet — passes update on a short cycle, not instantly. See Live pass updates.
