How golfers add their pass

The exact steps a golfer takes on iPhone and Android, what to say when they're stuck, and how to re-send a pass that's been lost.

Updated 7/27/2026

Adding a pass takes a single tap, but golfers occasionally get stuck — almost always for the same handful of reasons. This article gives you the exact steps for each phone and a quick script for the questions that come up at the desk.

On iPhone (Apple Wallet)

    1. Open the GolfPass email on the iPhone.
    2. Tap Add to Apple Wallet.
    3. A preview of the pass opens — tap Add in the top corner.
    4. The pass is now saved in the Wallet app, ready for the round.

On Android (Google Wallet)

    1. Open the GolfPass email on the Android phone.
    2. Tap Add to Google Wallet.
    3. Google Wallet opens with the pass — tap Add.
    4. The pass is saved in Google Wallet.

The questions you'll actually hear

"The button isn't doing anything."

They're almost certainly opening the email on a computer. Wallet passes can only be added from a phone.

Ask the golfer to open the same email on their iPhone or Android phone, then tap the button there. This single issue accounts for most "it won't add" reports.

"Which button do I press?"

iPhone users tap Add to Apple Wallet; Android users tap Add to Google Wallet. Pressing the "wrong" one does no harm — it just won't add the pass. If they're not sure what phone they have, an iPhone has an Apple logo on the back; almost everything else is Android.

"Do I need to download an app?"

No. Apple Wallet and Google Wallet are already built into the phone. There's nothing to install and no account to create.

"I deleted the email / lost the pass."

If they still have the original email, they can tap the button again at any time to re-add it. If the email is gone, you can re-send the pass from their booking in your dashboard — see below.

"Do I need to add it again every time I book?"

Each booking gets its own pass and its own email. For one-off visitors that's expected. For members and regulars who come in often, give them a standing player pass so they always have one in their wallet.

Re-sending a pass

If a golfer needs their pass again and the email is gone:

Once a pass is added, it looks after itself — it updates automatically when the tee time changes, with no action from the golfer. See Live pass updates.
