Lightspeed Restaurant (K-Series) POS extension

Scan a golfer's wallet pass at the Lightspeed Restaurant till to load their details and attach them to the open sale. How to register the extension and use it.

Updated 7/27/2026

The Restaurant POS extension lets a server scan a golfer's GolfPass wallet pass at the till, see their player and tee-time details, and attach them to the open sale as the consumer — useful for tracking food & beverage spend against a member.

Before you start

  • Connect Lightspeed Restaurant (K-Series) on the Integrations page first.
  • Unlike Retail, K-Series attaches the golfer directly to the sale — they don't need an existing Restaurant customer record.

Register the extension in Lightspeed

    1. On the Integrations page, open your connected Lightspeed Restaurant card and copy the POS extension URL.
    2. In the Lightspeed Back Office, go to Operations → Web extensions and click Add a new web extension.
    3. Name it GolfPass, paste the POS extension URL as the URL, and turn on JavaScript Context so the extension can read the open order (needed to add golfers to the sale). Click Save.
    4. Add a POS button: go to Menu → Menu management, pick your menu and main screen, choose Add button → Web extension, enable GolfPass, then Add button.

Use it at the till

    1. Open the GolfPass extension on the order.
    2. Scan the golfer's wallet pass — the POS hardware scanner and the on-screen camera both work — or type their player number or email.
    3. Review the golfer's details and tee times.
    4. Tap Add to sale — the golfer is set as the consumer (with member references), a check-in is recorded in GolfPass, and the extension closes back to the POS.

Troubleshooting

  • No golfer found. The pass may be from a different club, or the code was mistyped — try the email instead.
  • Scanner does nothing. Make sure the extension is open and focused; you can always type the code manually.
