The Retail POS extension lets a cashier scan a golfer's GolfPass wallet pass at the till, see their player and tee-time details, and add them to the open sale — so the sale is tied to the right Lightspeed Retail customer.
Before you start
- Connect Lightspeed Retail (R-Series) on the Integrations page first.
- The golfer needs a Lightspeed Retail customer record to be added to the sale. GolfPass finds it through the link Lightspeed Golf holds between the golfer and their Retail customer, or — if there's no link — by searching Lightspeed Retail for a customer with the golfer's email. Once found, the match is remembered so later scans are instant. If no Retail customer matches, the extension still shows the golfer's details but can't attach them to the sale.
Register the extension in Lightspeed
- On the Integrations page, open your connected Lightspeed Retail card and copy the POS extension URL.
- In the Lightspeed Retail back office, go to Settings → Custom menus → Register: Sale Tab.
- Click Add a new button and set its Title to GolfPass.
- Edit the button (the pencil icon) and paste the POS extension URL into its URL field.
- Click Save changes. The GolfPass button now appears on the register's Sale screen.
Use it at the till
- Start a sale on the register and open the GolfPass extension.
- Scan the golfer's wallet pass (camera) or type their player number, confirmation code, or email.
- Review the golfer's details and tee times.
- Tap Add to sale — the golfer is attached to the sale as the customer, a check-in is recorded in GolfPass, and the extension closes back to the till.
Troubleshooting
- "Golfer is not a Lightspeed Retail customer." No Retail customer is linked to the golfer and none matched their email. Create or import them in Lightspeed Retail using the same email, then re-scan.
- No golfer found. The pass may be from a different club, or the code was mistyped — try the email instead.
- Camera won't open. The browser or register may be blocking camera access. Make sure you allow camera access when prompted, and that the register is on https. Because the extension runs inside Lightspeed's POS, the till itself must permit the camera for embedded extensions — if it doesn't, camera scanning won't be available and you should type the player number, confirmation code, or email instead (this always works).
